It never mattered what they said, or what they thought or how they felt; she blocked it out. It was hard. At times it felt impossible. They were incessant, constant, persistent. They would tell her everything to sway her thoughts, control her mind. But they never knew her strength, never saw in her the power she held. They learned the hard way that she only ever danced to the beat of her own drum.
